| In May of 2001,
the Scouts assigned to Troop 1835 met with their Scoutmasters
for a pre-Jamboree Shakedown campout at Camp Strake, near
Conroe, TX.
This campout was a great opportunity for
the Scouts to get to know each, select their Troop and Patrol leaders,
and to learn about the equipment to be used this summer at Jamboree.
We also learnt about how various events would be organized at Jamboree
including the preparing and cooking of meals. Everyone in Troop
1835 took the opportunity to pass their swim test in preparation
for the water activities at Jamboree.
