Lost Maples State Natural Area

| For our first
activity in 2000, Troop 202 spent a weekend of primitive camping and
backpacking in Lost Maples State Natural Area, west of Bandera, TX.
This was a training hike for the Y2K Philmont Crew, a great chance
to finish the Camping Merit Badge, and a great excuse for a hike in
the hill country. Participation
was great with 25 Scouts and 15 adults attending this event. This
trip was marked by an unfortunate accident when one of the advisors
broke his leg, resulting in first aid and a
rescue by the Park Rangers. The rest of the crew were able to
continue and had a great weekend.
